Obituary for Leard Watts
Leard Watts, age 84 of Metamora, passed away May 8, 2019. Leard was born in Kentucky on February 13, 1935. He retired from General Motors after 28 years of dedicated employment. Leard was hardworking, kind-hearted and would always help anyone in need. He was a member of the Metamora-Hadley Masonic Lodge No. 210 for many years. He enjoyed very long day trips in the car and his social networking group at the Lapeer McDonalds. Leard deeply loved spending time with his grandchildren and his numerous Dachshund dogs that he owned throughout his life.
Leard is survived by his son, Larry Watts; daughters, Pamela (Scott) Brandeberry, Charlene Balabon, and Terre (Norm) Wilcox; grandchildren, Christopher Watts, Emily Jordan, Jeremy Balabon, Cara Britt, Kyle St. Peter, Justin St. Peter, Matthew Wilcox, and Mark Wilcox; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Chloe, Sam, Jonathan, Julia, Jack, Jillian, Jamie, Emery, and Kellen; sisters, Lassie Patton and Layne Bates; also many nieces and nephews.
Leard was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Watts and his second wife, Ruby Watts; his parents, Troy & Isabelle Watts; brothers, Buford Watts and Jennings Watts; son-in-law, Joe Balabon; and brother-in-law, Vernor Bates.
Friends may visit on Friday, May 10th from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Pastor Ron Hutchinson will officiate. Interment at Attica Two. Cemetery. Memorial donations to either the Suncrest Auxiliary or Metamora-Hadley Masonic Lodge No. 210 are appreciated.
