Obituary for Wayne G. Stover

Wayne G. Stover age 75 (formerly of Attica) passed away at Bay Medical Regional Center in Bay City, Michigan on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 2008. He was born to Rae (Griswold) and Harry Stover of Attica, Michigan May 7, 1933. Wayne graduated from Lapeer High in 1952, attended Michigan Technological University and transferred to Western Michigan University to earn his bachelor's degree in business. He was drafted into the United States Army and after doing basic training in Chicago, served in various parts of Germany. Upon his return, he went into the insurance business in California. He resided in Mission Viejo and Chino Hills, CA for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed golf and travel - traveling to Africa, Europe and the U.S. He retired to Jacksonville, Florida and moved back to Michigan three years ago to be closer to family. He enjoyed watching the stock market and sports, feeding wild birds, and reading his many magazines. He is survived by his brother, Sherwin Stover of Otter Lake, nephew Ray Stover of Midland (wife, Rose) great-nieces, Jessica and Samantha Stover and Jalynn and Taylor Bruske and nieces Ruth Stover-Lange of Lapeer (husband, Bill Lange) and family, Chris (King) Boyle of Ortonville (husband, Christopher) and family and Fran King of Pontiac. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Sharon (Stover) King. A memorial and burial service was held at Attica Township Cemetery on Saturday November 29, 2008. Veteran services were performed by the American Legion Post 16 - Lapeer Chapter. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Downtown Lapeer.
