Obituary for Thomas G. Muldoon

Thomas G. Muldoon, 80, of Lapeer, passed away on March 28th, 2017 with his loving family by his side.

Tom was born on April 25th, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Gilbert and Bernadette Muldoon and soon after moved to a farm in Avoca where he was one of seven children. Tom graduated from Yale High School in 1954. It was there that he met Betty McCarthy and the two were married on August, 24th 1957.

Tom worked at AC Spark Plug for 36 years as a carpenter retiring in 1998. Tom possessed a great sense of humor, loved the outdoors and was not afraid of hard work. Tom enjoyed hunting, going for walks in the woods, and always kept himself busy on special projects around the house or helping friends and family with theirs. Mostly, Tom enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Tom’s most proud accomplishment in life was the family he and Betty created, he simply loved being around them and especially enjoyed watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and grow up. Tom was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and made friends wherever he went.

Tom is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Muldoon of Lapeer; his four children, Tom (Julie) Muldoon Jr of Milford, Terri (Patrick) Donahue of California, Michelle (Steve) Warner of Rochester, and Mike (Charity) Muldoon of Georgia: eleven grandchildren, Tommy (Megan) Muldoon, Taylor Muldoon, Katherine McDaniel, Cody Donahue, Sean Donahue, Kathleen Donahue, Patrick Donahue Jr, Mackenzie Warner, Jack Warner, Michael Muldoon Jr and Declan Muldoon; four great-grandchildren, Cashlan Muldoon, Ledger Muldoon, Mayvin Muldoon and Brinleigh Muldoon; three brothers, Jim Muldoon, Bill Muldoon and Ed Muldoon; several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sister’s Josephine Carriere and Kathy Mason, and brother Mike Muldoon.

A celebration of his life and a Memorial Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on April 17th. A gathering for friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Raymond Arwady will conduct the Mass. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer.
