Obituary for Robert J. Brooks
Robert J. Brooks, age 78 of Lapeer, passed away February 5th, 2018. Robert retired from Pontiac Motors after 30 years as a Tinsmith. He spent a lot of his free time making bird houses in the barn and working on other various wood working projects. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, riding his dune buggy, racing motorcycles in his younger days, and hanging out at Ray C's Extreme in Lapeer.
Robert is survived by his wife Diane of 56 years; his son Richard (Shelly) Brooks of Lapeer; granddaughters Elizabeth and Mallory Brooks; special family members Laura, Tori and Hannah; brothers David (Charlene) Brooks and Paul (Barbie) Brooks; also several aunts, nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey "Bubba" Brooks on August 15th, 2017; parents Ray & Alice Brooks; brothers Harold and Philip Brooks.
Memorials to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are appreciated.
Friends may visit with the Brooks family on Thursday, February 8th from 2:00-8:00 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors-Capstick Chapel, Lapeer, Michigan. Funeral will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 9th at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Crestwood Cemetery on a later date.
