Obituary for Richard B. Moore

Moore, Richard B., age 92 of Elba, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1918 in Lapeer, to Edward and Maude (Cummings) Moore. He married Marguerite Santee in Lapeer on October 12, 1940 she preceded him in death in 1999. He retired from AC Spark Plug in 1974 after 30 years of employment. Richard was a farmer, a builder and served on the Elba Township Board. He was active in the Odd Fellows, Eagles, and the Elba Lions Club, being the last charter member of the Lions Club. Richard enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing and his trips to Alaska. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and a great friend to all who knew him. Surveying are four daughters, Sharon (Gene) Masters of Lapeer, Barbara (Karl) St. John of Lapeer, Dianne Britting of Davison and Sandra White of Lapeer, Nine grandchildren, Richard, Christopher, Tammy, Danny, Scott (Amy), Alana (Jimmy), Amy Jo, Adam, John (Jennifer); great grandchildren Levi (Mandy), Andrea, Jerilynn, Brandon, Alyssa, Patrick, and Savannah; two great-great grandchildren, Dayton and Kylie; sister, Daisy Dean of St. Helen; many nieces and nephews, including Jim Moore. Also, special friends Norma Johnson, Elizabeth and David Smithart, and Francis Krakker. Special care giver, Kathy Verbias of Davison. Preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elba Lions Club.
Friends may visit the funeral home Sunday 3:00 to 9:00 PM and Monday 3:00 to 9:00 PM.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home Capstick Chapel 542 Liberty Park, Lapeer, MI 48446. Reverend Arnold Bracy will be officiating with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer.
