Obituary for Richard E. Grayhek

Richard E. Grayhek, age 58 of Lapeer (formerly of Pontiac, MI) passed away on September 22, 2021. Richard was born in Pontiac on August 22, 1963, to Earl and Donna Grayhek. Richard was a sports fanatic and had an incredible ability to recall game statistics. He loved all sports from the professional level to our local Lapeer teams. He loved collecting sports team hats and traveling, especially to Cooperstown, NY to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Richard also enjoyed his employment at Growth and Development, where he made many friends and was a hard-worker.

Richard is survived by his brother Bob (Vera) Grayhek of Columbiaville and his sister Rita Watts. He is also survived by his Uncle, Bill Smoot, Nephews; Aaron (Stephanie), Rolland, Chris, Noah (Cassidy), Andrew (Bailey), Caleb, and Micah, Nieces; Savannah, Angel, and Danika. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, and dear friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Earl Grayhek & Donna (Smoots) Grayhek; sisters Bonnie & Pat.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 29th at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 433 N. Calhoun St., Lapeer, MI 48446. Rev. Sam McKim will officiate. Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Richard will be laid to rest at Perry Mt. Park Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Special Olympics are appreciated.
