Obituary for Patricia Sue Sanders

Patricia Sue Sanders, age 76 of Dryden, MI, passed away peaceably on Saturday, October 28th.
Pati was a devoted follower of Jesus in whose company she now enjoys. While she had many physical challenges, her spirit was indomitable, her imagination-inspiring, and her laughter – contagious. Pati’s love of nature was exceeded only by her love of family and friends. Memories abound of late nights at the cabin or special times around the dining room table playing games, laughing so hard our bellies hurt, and tears streaming down our cheeks. Pati was competitive but good-natured, never taking herself too seriously. She was stubbornly devoted to all she loved, quick to laugh, firm in her convictions, adventurous, and creative.

As a Sunday school teacher, “Ms.Pati” inspired numerous children with her creative and experiential lessons that brought life to the narratives of biblical characters. She brought this same passion to her grandchildren; Katie, Tasha, Chase, Megan, Jade, and Jesi. Granny was ever so proud of her grandkids and prayed for them faithfully throughout her entire life.

Pati was preceded in death by her father Clare (Pat) M. Smith and dear brother-in-law George, is survived by her beloved mother, Corlyn Fern Smith (102 years old!) and younger sisters: Linda, Susan, and Merry Jill. She loved her sisters and their many adventures are the making of family legend. She is also survived by her devoted and loving husband of 54 years, Allan, as well as three children; David Sanders, Scott (Nora) Sanders, and Laura (Tod) Caron, whom she loved faithfully and unconditionally. She also leaves behind numerous loving brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends of whom many considered her a trusted confidant and mentor.

Friends may visit on Thursday, November 2nd from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A funeral service will take place on Friday, November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Melillo will be officiating. Burial at Metamora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Jews For Jesus or Compassion International are greatly appreciated.
