Obituary for Michael "Mick" Dziendziel

Michael “Mick” Dziendziel, triumphed over cancer only to have it return and take his life on July 6, 2021, at the age of 67. He was surrounded by his loving family throughout his final weeks and will forever live through them. His wife Vickie, his children, and grandchildren meant the absolute world to him. Although Mick had been ill for many years, he would never give in to the fact that it would eventually slow him down or take him away from us. He would push through the pain to finish each project on his endless list. He took pride in providing and protecting his family. Mick and Vickie had an unsurpassed bond. They would enjoy each other's company while traveling and spending time with family and friends. Together they embraced their hometown in Lapeer. Mick was a caring and kind man who instilled the importance of doing the “Right Thing”. He never missed the opportunity to spoil his grandchildren. His loving and playful nature is what gave him the title of “ Papa Bellybutton” and he wore that name proudly. Mick worked very hard with his hands doing construction and welding. He retired from Federal Screw Works and Michigan Laborers, but to be honest he never really stopped working.

Mick survived by his wife of 20 years Vickie Dziendziel: his children Jason Dziendziel, Jewell Dziendziel, Tamara Cotter, Kevin (Maureen) Sharp; his grandchildren Teo Palico, Molly Cotter, Mason Cotter, Jackson Sharp, and Madelyn Sharp; brother Tim Dziendziel; sister Patty(Bob) Sanders; Sister-in-law Debra (Chester) Kopacz; Brother-in-law Tommy(Aerilis) Welch; Nephews Justin Kopacz and Aaron (Nikollete) Kopacz; his dear dog Muggsy

Mick was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Dziendziel; brother John Dziendziel; and his sweet dog Harley.

Friends may visit on July 9th from 3-7PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. No formal funeral service will be held. Memorial donations to the Dziendziel family are appreciated.
