Obituary for Michael Lee Marvin

Michael Lee Marvin, 56 of Lapeer, lost his brave struggle with brain cancer on January 31, 2014. Born on July 23, 1957 in Detroit, MI, Michael was the youngest of three sons born to his loving parents Doris and Donald Marvin who will be waiting with open arms to greet him in heaven, along with his beloved Granny Hart.

Michael married his first love, Patricia (Eady) in 1980 and was a wonderful husband, friend, and father. He was a living example for his children of one who was loving, honest, loyal, hardworking and kind, and he left this world so proud of the adults his son Jesse (Harmony Albright) of Lapeer, and daughter Jaime (Todd Corey) of Columbiaville have become. He will remain in their hearts forever.

He loved and cherished his family, including his two brothers, Henry (Wendy) of Clawson, and Peter (Vickie) of Rochester Hills, in-law’s Bob and Pat Eady of Davison, brother-in-law Robert (Nancy) Eady of Land O’Lakes, WI, sister-in-law Kathy Eady-Miskiewicz of Saginaw, sister-in-law Sue (Susan) Eady of Marenisco, brother-in-law David (Maggie) Eady of Metamora; nieces, Anna, Cortney (Dan), Shakyra, Ruhiyyih (Matt), nephews Peter (Rachel), Joe, Nuri (Leila), Daniel (Emily), Ian (Amy), Adam (Ashly), Joel (Amelia), Jeremy (Sam); great-nieces Sage, Bahia, Emma, Alivia, Samantha, great-nephews Cyrus, Corbin, Luke and Keegan, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

The times Michael spent with his family were by far his favorite times. He always put family first and was not afraid to let them know just how much he loved all of them. Michael would love to be remembered for his sense of humor; he just loved to make people laugh :) He loved dogs, most especially his Jenna (who rarely left his side), and his grand-dogs Claudius, Sofie, and Joey.

Michael was a machinist for over 40 years and thanks to a great boss and co-workers he appreciated having a job he looked forward to going to everyday. He accomplished many things in his life, including volunteering as a firefighter in Metamora for 10 years, building a cedar strip canoe, building the house that Jesse currently lives in, re-modeling all his homes, and receiving a patent for the SeaWeedPro aquatic weed rake that he designed and manufactured over the last few of years. His favorite accomplishment was simply being a dad. He loved to invent things and spent many evenings conjuring up new products or ways to improve things. He loved to cook and bake . . . his baked beans and his sourdough bread were everyone’s favorites, and he enjoyed traveling, making several trips to China and Florida with his wife Patsy.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and a service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Lapeer. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society. The family would like to thank everyone for their support, kind thoughts, and prayers during Michael’s struggle with cancer.
