Obituary for Mary L. Vroman
Mary L. Vroman (Lynk), age 95 of Lapeer, passed away March 1, 2018. She was born November 4, 1922 in Elba Township to the late Maude and Edward Lynk. Mary attended Lapeer schools and graduated in 1941. She was employed at the Lapeer County Draft Board during World War II, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and also at Consumers Energy in Flint. Mary married Donald W. Vroman on the Naval Base in Corpus Christi, TX where he was training to be a Navy Pilot. Together they lived in many states while Don was in the service. Mary retired from Consumers Energy in 1977 and they spent 26 years in Florida before moving back to Michigan.
Mary is survived by her nephew Donald Goodrich of Santa Maria, California; niece Sandra Congdon of Columbiaville, Michigan; two great-nieces, one great-nephew, and one great-great-niece; dear friends Shirley & Gene Brodt of Lapeer, Michigan, the Richard Barber family of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Nancy & Donnie Watters of Millington, Michigan.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Donald ; sisters Fern Goodrich, Marguerite Miteen, and Dorothy Drowley; brothers Dr. Stanley Lynk and Donald Lynk.
Friends may visit Friday, March 9th from 2-6 PM. Funeral will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors-Capstick Chapel in Lapeer on Saturday, March 10th at 11 AM. Pastor Drew Jolly will be officiating. Burial will be at Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville.
