Obituary for Marvin R. Vermillion

Marvin R. Vermillion, 87 of Dryden, passed away December 27, 2018. He was born in Nanty Glo, PA on January 6, 1931. Marvin was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lapeer. He was very active in the church and enjoyed volunteering his time there. He also loved volunteering at Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden. Marvin was a skilled woodworker and kept busy with various furniture refinishing projects at his home in Dryden. Marvin loved tending to his garden and working on crossword puzzles (in pen), but most of he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sue Ann Vermillion; five children: Marvin (Louise) Vermillion, Cindy (Mike) Spencer, Kim (John) Evanoff, David (Judy) Vermillion, and Tom Vermillion; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Wayne Vermillion; sister Coleen (George) Shank; sister-in-law Connie Vermillion and many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Leonard & Mabel Vermillion; brother Leo Vermillion.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 433 N Calhoun St, Lapeer, MI 48446. Pastor Alex Peterson will officiate. A memorial luncheon will follow. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church or Seven Ponds Nature Center are appreciated.
