Obituary for Maria Lee Thompson
Maria Lee Thompson, age 40 of Lapeer, passed away December 1, 2018. She was born February 23, 1978 in Lapeer. She was a graduate of Venture High School in Imlay City, class of 1997. She was a devoted wife; a wonderful mother to three children; and a caring daughter and sister. She was selfless in her actions and giving to those that needed it most. She had a strong faith in God and was a member of Believer's Fellowship Church in Lapeer for many years. Maria was a self-employed caregiver for many years. She loved her job because it afforded her the opportunity to take care of people.
Maria is survived by her husband of 11 years, Don Thompson; her three children Ty, Jayden, and Sophia; mother Brenda (Jeff) Sontag; brothers Sean (Danielle) Griewahn and Christopher Griewahn; sister Michelle Griewahn; grandmother Leatha Little; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Maria was preceded in death by her father Hollis Griewahn.
A funeral service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel on Friday, December 7th at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Edward Gates will be officiating. Friends may visit on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Thompson family are appreciated.
