Obituary for Lyle A. Ogilvie

Lyle A. Ogilvie of Whitehall, Michigan, formerly of Lapeer, died on May 13, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon of complications from the Covid-19 virus. He was born to Walter Ogilvie and Katherine Bruce Ogilvie on November 8, 1955 in Royal Oak, Michigan. He attended school in Troy, Michigan and graduated from Troy High School in 1972. He studied at Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan Dearborn and graduated with a degree in Social Work.

Lyle was committed to helping people in Lapeer at McLaren Lapeer Region
and other agencies. He moved to the Muskegon area were he worked at Muskegon Community Mental Health and most recently working at Roosevelt Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was greatly admired for his kind, compassionate manner by his family, patients and co-workers.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and sister Elizabeth Knapton. He is survived by his sister Kathy (Tom) Hunt of Dunlap, Illinois, and brother Bruce Ogilvie of Lapeer. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Bonnie Christians of Berkley, Matt (Glenda) Walsh of Clawson, Clayton (Rayna) of Debary, Florida, and Olivia Hunt of Burke, Virginia and great-nephews and niece Ryan Christians of Chandler, Arizona, and Robert and Rachel Walsh of Clawson. Lyle leaves behind special friend, for 48 years, Julie O'Brian and her husband Larry of St. Joseph, MI.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Lyle will be laid to rest at Oregon Township Cemetery.
