Obituary for Larry Lee Zue

Larry L. Zue, age 70, of Lapeer. After living a courageous battle with cancer, Larry closed his eyes, went to sleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus on December 6, 2015. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Pamella Zue; his son Scott (Becky) Allen; Granddaughter, Gabrielle Allen; father, Carl Zue; siblings, Robert Zue, Dean (Pamela) Zue, Judy Wiseman, Dianne (Gary) Youker, and Chester (Mary Ellen) Zue; Sister-in-law, Mary (Dan) Polkinghorne; Brother-in-law, Rodney Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Harold and Judy Chown, James and B.J. Mitchell, Dan and Diana Kenworthy. With special thanks to Ron and Gail Gibson as well as Pastor Drew and Lisa Jolly and the whole Lapeer Church of the Nazarene family.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Zue; Brother-in-law Eugene Wiseman and his Sister-in-law Joan Zue.

Larry was born in Buckley, MI on April 30, 1945 to Carl and Marie Zue. He loyally served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Larry retired in 1998 from General Motors AC Spark Plug Division after over 34+ years of dedicated service. He was a member of UAW Local 651. Larry was a “man’s man” who thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, the challenge of a good puzzle, golfing with his good buddies, and many other Michigan-outdoor activities. He took great pride in his pole barn and enjoyed spending time out there while splitting wood. His family and friends will always fondly remember his passion for recycling.

It was Larry’s selfless wish to become a whole-body donor to medical research and education which will provide innovation and opportunity for scientific medical advancement.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, December 13th from 2-6 pm at Lynch and Sons Funeral Directors, Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Downtown Lapeer. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 14th at 11:00 with Pastor Drew Jolly officiating. Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion, Lapeer Post #16.
