Obituary for June Elizabeth Yerke

June Elizabeth (Schroeder) Yerke, 71, of Lapeer, passed away March 17, 2014 after a very brave battle with cancer.

June was born in Detroit to Art and Marion Schroeder on April 27, 1942. To those who didn’t know June well, it would be easy to say she was a loving daughter, sister, aunt or friend. An amazing wife who loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. But those who truly knew June would immediately say she is all of that and so much more, that she raised and helped so many people in her lifetime. She opened her home and her heart time and again.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marion Schroeder. She will also be readily greeted in heaven by her loving husband Bill Yerke. There is going to be some incredible dancing, tennis playing and bowling going on in celebration of their reunion.
June was a loving sister to her beloved Beverly (Ken) Gilbert, Diane (Joe) Frank, and her brother Art (Kathy) Schroeder. Loving sister-in-law to Terry Yerke and Doug (Pam) Yerke. June was a wonderful Aunt to many nieces and nephews who she cherished. June's happy smile will be sadly missed by her boyfriend Ralph Goode. June’s spirit will be carried on by her daughter Elizabeth Keller, son-in-law Tom and their sons – Aaron and Brian; Son Bill Yerke, daughter-in-law Wendy and their two children – Amanda and Michael; and her daughter Trish Smith, her son-in-law Bob and their sons Cameron, Bradley and Zachary.
June loved flowers, her favorites were daisies. However, she asked specifically that if you would prefer not to send flowers to the funeral home that you could feel free to take some to your own Mother, deliver some to a local hospice / hospital or a memorial donation may be made to United Hospice Service in Marlette, MI.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many friends and family for their support of June throughout her battle and in her final days. She truly enjoyed each and every visit, card and phone call.

A gathering in June's memory will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm with an 8:00 pm service at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Capstick Chapel.

A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Michael Zuelch officiating.
