Obituary for John "Skroat" Lee

John Lee, age 59 of Columbiaville, passed away on September 13, 2019 in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by family. John had a special bond with his brothers and sisters at the Vigilante's Motor Cycle Club in Detroit. He loved every single one of them and considered them all family. He also had made many friends at the other motorcycle clubs. The Wheelin Team 457 in North Branch were like family to him.

John married Sherry Lee on Aug. 7, 2004. He loyally served in the U.S. Army. He owned his own trucking company for over 25 years. John loved to ride his Heritage Softail "Moo Moo Glide". John was a special brother to the Vigilantes M/C, and a member of the Tribesman M/C, Eagle, ABATE of MI, and the Wheels Team 457. After an illness left him a quadruple amputee in 2006, John was given a 1% chance to live. He became an inspiration too many and gave inspirational speeches at various colleges.

John loved being on his property, hunting, fishing, golfing and was an outstanding turkey caller. His biggest love was his family and would brag about his girls and his love for his wife Sherry. He loved his grandchildren and talked about them to everyone.

John is survived by his wife Sherry Bennett-Lee; daughters Amanda Earl, Kaley (Benjamin) Crouch, Jamie (Josh) Quick; grandchildren Lillian, David, and Joseph; mother MaryAnn Lee; brothers Robert Lee, Pete (Lisa) Bennett, Gary Mahaffey, Rich (Denise) Shipman, Kim Shipman, Leonardo (Carol) Mazzara; sister Carol Cubba.

He was preceded in death by his father John Lee, Grandma; brother-in-law Scott Bennett, cousin Barb Tyrrell.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A private wake will be announced at a later date.
