Obituary for Jo-Ann Carole Almas
Jo-Ann Carole Almas, age 88 of Lapeer, passed away on October 19, 2021, in the comforts of home and with her family by her side. She was born on September 28, 1933, in Detroit, MI to Samuel and Olive Marks. Jo-Ann loved spending time with family and her two cats Snuggles and Wiggles. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and growing peppers. No pepper was too hot for her to handle. She loved reading People magazine, Motor Trend magazine, and her local newspaper.
Jo-Ann is survived by her daughter Charmin Stone of Lapeer; son Greg Almas of Lapeer; grandchildren Brittni Stone, Cody Stone and his girlfriend Roxanne Harris; great-grandchildren Preston Major, Landon Stone, Carson Talbot, and Brantley Schlaud.
Jo-Ann preceded in death by her husband Vernon Almas on February 15, 2011; her parents Samuel and Olive Marks; daughter Connie Almas; brother Ronald Marks.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, October 27th from 12-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 28th at 11AM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Jo-Ann will be laid to rest at Dawn Memorial Cemetery in Elba Twp. Memorial donations to Paradise Animal Rescue, 2266 N. Lapeer Rd, Lapeer, MI 48446 are appreciated.
