Obituary for Ina Bernice Traver

Ina Bernice Traver, 77, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, passed away on February 4, 2021, in the comforts of her home and with her family at her bedside. Ina was born on November 19, 1943, in Lapeer, MI to Walter LaCroix and Mildred Rice. Ina was a loving and caring woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She loved playing poker, watching game shows and a good cup of coffee. She was a beautiful soul that touched many hearts and changed many lives. She was a strong woman who never took no for an answer. Ina was sweet, beautiful, and could light up an entire room. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and other family members.

Ina is survived by her children, Loraine (Jerry) Edgett of Davison, Allen (Michelle) Pingel of Lapeer, and Mildred (Maxwell) Grindstaff of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Jeri Lynn Stock, Jack Edgett, Ashley Grindstaff, Mackenzie Stephenson, Bailey Grindstaff-Rubio, Joshua Pingel, Brandon Merrow, Justin Merrow, Lynzie Merrow, Devon Pingel, and Haley Pingel; great-grandchildren, Wynter, Valice, Jadyn, Johnny, Jaclyn, Nell, Harper, Lyla, and Khloe; brother Larry LaCroix; sisters Dawn Hixenbaugh and Ann Childers; also many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Ina was preceded in death by her husband Edward Traver in 2018; father Walter LaCroix; mother Mildred Rice; sister June Judd, Clara Sprankle, and Marjorie Wilcox; brothers Fred LaCroix, Freeman LaCroix, and Walter LaCroix.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 8th from 3-8 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. No formal service will be held. Due to government gathering restrictions only 25 people are able to be in the building at any given time. Masks are required to enter the building. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Karmonos Cancer Institute are greatly appreciated.
