Obituary for Harold Matthew Tripp

Harold Matthew Tripp, age 86, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, passed away May 3, 2014. He was born in Arcadia Township to Haskel and Marion Tripp on November 17, 1927. Harold loyally served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from General Motors: Fisher Body Plant in Grand Blanc after 34 years of dedicated employment. He was a devoted family man who loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, camping in East Tawas, and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce; daughter Karen (Jim) Dinkens; son Gary Tripp; Daughter Marvel (Ted) Yamin; son Mark (Robyne) Tripp; grandchildren, Julie (Walter) Buck, Kay (Bob) Peterson, Joel (Courtney) Tripp, Sarah (Gus) Sweis, Ted (Robyn) Yamin, Mike (Emma) Yamin, Elizabeth Yamin, Bailey Tripp, Brandalyne Tripp and Victoria Tripp; great grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Blake, Gus, Greyson, Saylor, Caleb, Joseph, Kate, and Sadie; great great granddaughter, Elliona; sister, Barbara (Gordon) Peterson; brother, Clark (Gloria) Tripp; sister-in-law, Peggy Tripp.

Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Haskel and Marion; brother Richard Tripp.

Friends may visit Tuesday, 2-8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Downtown Lapeer. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Arnold Bracy officiating. Interment at Stiles Cemetery with military honors by the Auspices of American Legion Lapeer Post #16. Memorial donations to: Little Pink Houses of Hope are greatly appreciated.
