Obituary for Glenn G. Weil

Glenn G. Weil age 84 of Lapeer went to be with the Lord December 1, 2008. He passed away in the early morning hours and was surrounded by family at that time. Mr. Weil was a fighter pilot during WWII and served on the Detroit Police force for almost forty years, at which time he went to the North Branch Police as Chief, until he retired a second time in 1989, after 16 additional years of service. Mr. Weil was preceded in death by his father, Lester Weil in 1978, his mother Hilda Weil in 1984 and his son, Craig Weil in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Weil of Lapeer, his daughter, Glenda Bossenberger and husband David of Lapeer, and his son, Kirk Weil of North Carolina. Mr. Weil has four grandchildren; David Bossenberger Jr. and Wife Mary of Lapeer, Dr. Jeffrey Bossenberger and wife Jackie of Fenton, Jamie Tindall and husband Kent of Lapeer and Raven Weil of Michigan. Mr. Weil was also the proud great grandfather of six great grandchildren; Austin, Brandon, and Lauren Bossenberger, and Garett, Hunter, and Isabella Tindall. Mr. Weil was a loving grandfather and great grandfather who left his family with many memories. He was close to his children and grandchildren from the early years with his own children to the latter days with his grand and great grandchildren. Mr. Weil was actively involved in the ministries of several Baptist and Lutheran churches throughout his life. He is deeply loved and will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Downtown Lapeer, Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 12:00 PM. Reverend Norman J. Farver will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery with the auspices of American Legion Post 16. Friends may visit Thursday December 4, 2008 4-9 PM and Friday December 5, 2008 1-9 PM.
