Obituary for Frances R. Yates

Frances R. Yates, 75, of Lapeer, passed away February 26, 2017, in the comforts of her home with her family at her bedside. Frances was born February 28, 1941, in Odanah, Wisconsin.

Our beloved mother was an amazing woman with great faith in our lord Jesus Christ. We were blessed to have her in our lives for over seventy-five years. She deeply loved our father, our family, and friends and served her community through her church. Our mother headed up the Alcoholics for Christ support group for over twenty years and also ran a Change for the Better Class, which both positively impacted innumerable lives. Our mother was a teacher, a counselor, and a leader, but most of all she was a friend. Our mother also worked as a Beautician for over thirty years, which gave her the opportunity to share the love of Christ and minister to many people in need. Mom’s love of the Lord was evident in everything she did and this love was passed on to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; she prayed faithfully for all of us every day without any waiver. Mom’s love of animals, gardening, and nature was passed on to all of her children and grandchildren. There are no words to express how deeply our mother will be missed by all of us. “Well done [my] good and faithful servant,” well done.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Donald Albert Victor Yates; four children Debbie Matthews, Susan (Lawrence) Kluck, Michael (Jutta) Yates, and Kathryn Bolton; ten grandchildren Sean Matthews, David (Rebecca) Matthews, Lynsey (Ben) Ridley, Taylor Matthews, Aaron (Alea) Kluck, Andrew (Alicia) Kluck, Anna (Jeffery) Wells, Alec Kluck, Nicole Yates, and James Yates; great-grandchildren Brandon and Ethan English, Tayte, Jasper and Killian Ridley, Logan and Amelia Matthews, Meah and Lily Eskestrand, Addelyn, Ari, Adrian, Eden, and Calvary Kluck; mother Mary Thomas; brothers Butch, Ed, and Don Thomas; sisters Mary Jane Cole, Denise Thomas and Diane Christian.

Frances was preceded in death by her grandparents Walter & Frances Kathryn LaValle.

Friends may visit on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Friday from 1-9 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel.  Frances's funeral will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Christian Family Church, 3440 Davison Road, Lapeer, MI 48446 (in-state at 10 a.m.) Pastor Larry Kluck will be officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer. Memorial contributions to Faith Christian Family Church are greatly appreciated.
