Obituary for Donald Jack DeLeeuw
Donald Jack DeLeeuw, age 81 of Oxford, MI, formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away September 9, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Darlene Jane DeLeeuw; three children Terry L. (Christy) DeLeeuw, Julie A. (Bruce) Barnes, and Dawn M. (Gregory) Light; seven grandchildren Lauren Barnes, Kaitlyn Barnes, Madison Light, Justin Light, Lindsay DeLeeuw, Christian DeLeeuw and Ethan DeLeeuw.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Esther DeLeeuw; sister Marjorie Pinkster.
Donald loyally served his country in the Navy Reserve from 1954 to 1962. He was the Director of Information Technology at DME Co. for 25 years and a Clerk for Addison Township for 6 years. Donald had an enduring sense of humor that made him loved by all. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always looking to help others. The family would like to thank his caregivers at Stonegate for two years of loving care.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A graveside service will be held at Lakeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
