Obituary for Dale C. Freeman

Dale C. Freeman, 83, of New Port Richey, Fla., died Saturday in Lapeer. He was born June 1, 1928 in Pontiac, and graduated from Lapeer High School in 1946.

Dale joined the Army and was stationed in Occupied Japan after World War II. He married fellow classmate Jeannine (Donaldson) Freeman in 1950, and served in the Korean War.

He later attended Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He became vice president and general manager of the Vesley Co., manufacturer of Apache camping trailers in Lapeer.

Though he spent his retirement in Florida, Dale returned to Michigan during the summers to visit family and friends. He enjoyed boating on the Great Lakes, dancing and following the stock market.

Jeannine preceded him in death in 1979, and he spent his later years with Gloria Cox, of Lapeer.

Dale is survived by his children: John (Rebecca) Freeman, Dawn (Leslie) Waggett, Dana (Patrick) Managan, Amy Freeman, and seven grandchildren.

He will be buried next to Jeannine at Mt. Hope Cemetery, and the family will hold a private memorial. He will be missed.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home Capstick Chapel, Lapeer, MI.
