Obituary for Cheryl Rozanne Martinez McTeer

CHERYL ROZANNE MARTINEZ-McTEER, 53, of Lapeer (formerly of Detroit) died on Thursday, January 25, 2010 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on March 8, 1956 in El Paso, TX to parents Ramiro and Barbera (Potter) Martinez.
Cheri was a member of New Hope Missionary Church in Lapeer. She had a deep trust and faith in the Lord that persevered through a lifetime of trials and manifested into a legacy of love. This was also evident by her devotion to being a wife and a mother. She loved to go hiking with her husband. Her grandchildren were especially an important part of her life, who knew her as “Abuelita”. She enjoyed art, photography, gardening and sewing (teddy bears). From her own words on Facebook “I am in love with my husband and I love chocolate”
Most knew Cheri as Cher-Bear and could attest to her witness for Christ’s kingdom she would plant many seeds and trust in God to see it through.
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:3-6)
