Obituary for Carolyn Ruth Bower

Carolyn Ruth Bower, 75, a resident of Lapeer, formerly of North Branch, passed away on April 29, 2021. She was born in Norfolk, VA on July 12th, 1945, to (the late) Roy and Ruth Corlis.

Carolyn selflessly devoted 45 years of her life to helping those with ADA disabilities. In 2007 Carolyn and Ron established a scholarship fund for Quest High School graduates through North Branch Community Schools. They have been long time supporters of the program and in 2008 they received the Outstanding Advocate of the Year Award from MAEO (Michigan Alternative Education Organization). Carolyn was also a teacher's aide for North Branch Elementary for 5 years.

Carolyn enjoyed tending to her many beautiful flower gardens and traveling across the United States with her husband in their RV. She also had the distinct privilege of meeting five U.S. Presidents and their first ladies.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Ron of 58 years of marriage; her three children Stephen (Lucie) Bower, Brian (Nicci) Bower, and Kevin (Marva) Bower; her grandchildren Bradley (Melanie) Bower, Miranda Bower, Jonathan Bower, Dylan Bower, Andrew Bower, and Heather Bower; one great-granddaughter Magnolia Bower; brother Kenneth (Dawn) Corlis; sister Judith (Jim) Rogers; niece Dawn (Scott) Hillaker; dear friend Karen Bennet; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A memorial service will be held at a later date which has yet to be determined.
