Obituary for Betty Jean Verbeke
Betty Jean Verbeke, 91, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, passed away March 2, 2017. Betty was born on November 8, 1925, in Lapeer. She was a graduate of Lapeer High School, Class of 1945. Betty was very active at the Senior Center where she enjoyed visiting with friends, having lunch, playing bingo and cards.
Betty is survived by eight children: Kathleen (Walter) Werden, Mary Ann Verbeke, Peter (Laurie) Verbeke, Paul Verbeke, Phillip (Cheryl) Verbeke, Darrel (Debbie) Verbeke, Daniel (Mo) Verbeke, and Donald (Sally) Verbeke; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother Pat (Helen) Griffith. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death in 1990 by her husband of 43 years, Clarence Verbeke. Also her four brothers and five sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel. Rev. Linda Nowiski will be officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Mt. Loretto Cemetery. Friends may visit on Thursday, March 9th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
