Arthur is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy DeVriendt; sons, Christopher (Natalee) DeVriendt, Michael (Connie) DeVriendt; grandsons, Joshua and Killian; brother, Raymond (Pamela) DeVriendt; step-sister, Judy (Larry) Perfeto; Also many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond DeVriendt; mother, Mary Glote; step-father, Fred Glote; Also his beloved daughter, Sheri DeVriendt who passed away at the age of 10. Arthur devoted over twenty years to the Lapeer County Sheriffs Department. Eventually he retired after working his way up the ranks to Under-Sheriff. He was also a member of the Lapeer Area Elks. Arthur enjoyed his dogs and working in the yard. He also loved vacationing to Rapid River in the Upper Peninsula. Most of all Arthur loved his family and spending quality time with his grandsons. He is one “Big Dog” / “Big Buffalo” that will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be held Monday 11:00 AM from Dryden United Methodist Church, (5400 Main St. Dryden, MI). Rev. Patricia Hoppenworth will be officiating. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday 3-8 PM and Sunday 12-8 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Lapeer, MI 48446. Memorials to Children’s Hospital http://www.childrensdmc.org are greatly appreciated.
