Katie Lynch Capstick Co-Owner, Licensed Funeral Director kcapstick@att.net

Katie Lynch Capstick is a  third generation funeral director and is the only daughter of Tim and Jennifer Lynch.  She grew up in Walled Lake where she was a 1998 graduate of Walled Lake Central High School.  Upon graduation, Katie attended Michigan State University and later transferred to Wayne State University where she graduated in 2002 from the School of Mortuary Science. After graduation she relocated to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors-Capstick Chapel in downtown Lapeer with her husband Mark, also a licensed funeral director.  Katie and Mark lived above the funeral home for 3 years before taking a different residence also in the city Lapeer.
 
Katie is currently on the Lapeer Rotary Club Board of Directors, Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce, Lapeer Downtown Business Association, and a past member of the Walled Lake Rotary Club.

Katie lives in the Lapeer area with her husband Mark and their three children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with her family and friends and volunteering her time at her children's school.

Mark E. Capstick graduated in 1998 along side his wife Katie Lynch Capstick from Walled Lake Central High School. After High School he furthered his education at Western Michigan University. Following two years at WMU he began a career in funeral service at Lynch & Sons in Walled Lake. After developing a passion for the profession, Mark enrolled in Mortuary School. He graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelors of Science specializing in Mortuary Science and received his State of Michigan Funeral Directors License in 2006. He is currently living in the Lapeer area with his wife, Katie Lynch Capstick their three children. Together he and his wife operate Lynch & Sons Funeral Home Capstick Chapel in downtown Lapeer.

Mark is a current member of the Lapeer Kiwanis, Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan Lapeer Lodge 54, and Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce.

Timothy J. Lynch Sr. Owner, Licensed Funeral Director

Timothy J. Lynch, Sr. is a second generation funeral director and along with his wife Jennifer, owns and operates the Walled Lake, Oxford and Lapeer locations of Lynch & Sons.  A 1971 graduate of Brother Rice High School, he attended Michigan State University and graduated, in 1974, from Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science where he served as class president.


Tim was instrumental in introducing “death education” to the Walled Lake Schools, where for years he taught seminars and workshops in bereavement and funeral customs.  He has, for thirty years, served as a bereavement consultant to Walled Lake Schools and is a frequent recipient of the Golden Apple Award for his educational initiatives.


Married for over thirty eight years to his childhood sweetheart, Jennifer Justen, Tim has presided over a growing family enterprise.  He has been joined in funeral service by his sons, Tim Jr. and Kevin and his daughter, Katie, all of whom hold licenses, as well as his son-in-law, Mark Capstick, who is also a licensed funeral director.  He and Jennifer are the proud grandparents of Ella, Brennan, Caroline and Henry Lynch, Addison and Livie Lynch and Kaden, Abigail Jennifer, and Lucy Capstick.  They are assisted at the funeral homes by daughters-in-law Jamie Brennan Lynch and Melissa Hagensen Lynch.


Active in numerous civic and community organizations, Tim and Jenny have made great contributions to each community in which they serve.  Tim is Past President of the Wixom-Walled Lake Lions Club, Past Chairman Of The Board of Central Scholarship Funds, Inc., Founding Member of the Foundation For Excellence-Walled Lake Schools, Past Member of the Walled Lake Rotary Club and the Walled lake Area Jaycees, the Past Treasurer of the Walled Lake Chamber Of Commerce and a member of the Walled Lake Schools Crisis Intervention Team.  They have been members for over thirty years of St. William Church in Walled Lake.


He and Jennifer truly represent the motto of Lynch & Sons:  “A Family Tradition of Dignified Service”.

Jennifer Lynch Owner, Comptroller

Jennifer Justen Lynch, along with her husband Tim Lynch Sr., owns and operates the Walled Lake, Oxford and Lapeer locations of Lynch & Sons.  A 1971 graduate of Marion High School, she attended Michigan State University before marrying Tim Sr. in 1973 and beginning her employment with the family firm.  During her career in funeral service Jennifer has worked in all areas of funeral home employment and ownership.


Married for over thirty eight years to her childhood sweetheart, Tim Lynch Sr., Jennifer has helped to preside over a growing family enterprise.  She has been joined in funeral service by her sons, Tim Jr. and Kevin and her daughter, Katie, all of whom hold licenses, as well as her son in law, Mark Capstick, who is also a licensed funeral director.  She and Tim Sr. are the proud grandparents of of Ella, Brennan, Caroline and Henry Lynch, Addison and Livie Lynch and Kaden, Abigail Jennifer, and Lucy Capstick.  They are assisted at the funeral homes by daughters-in-law Jamie Brennan Lynch and Melissa Hagensen Lynch.

Kevin Lynch Licensed Funeral Director

Kevin Lynch is a third generation funeral director and is the middle child of Tim and Jennifer Lynch. He is a 1996 graduate of Walled Lake Central High School. Upon graduation, Kevin attended Michigan State University and later transferred to Wayne State University where he graduated in 2002 from the School of Mortuary Science. That same year Kevin moved to Oxford where he is the co-owner and manager at Lynch & Sons Bossardet Chapel.

Kevin resides in Dryden with his best friend and wife Melissa, who works at Genesys Hospital as well as the funeral home. The couple was married August 10, 2008 . In September 2009 the couple welcomed in the world their first daughter Addison Andra Lynch and then their second daughter Livie Kathryn Lynch in May 2011. In May 2014 they completed their family when their son Boden Timothy Lynch was born.

Neal Howald Funeral Director Assistant

Neal Howald has been a part-time employee Lynch & Sons Funeral Homes since 1987.  Neal has a B.S. in Ed. degree form Central Michigan University and a M.A. from Eastern Michigan University. His duties at the funeral home are varied from facilitating the Life Cycles' Bereavement Support Group to making pre-arrangements and assisting on funerals.

Neal serves as a member of the Walled Lake Schools Crisis Intervention Team and the Legacy Scholarship Fund which provides scholastic scholarships in the memory of deceased students and teachers. Neal also is a member of the Supervisory Committee of the Walled Lake School Employees Federal Credit Union and the Commerce Township Cemetery Committee.

Melissa Lynch Funeral Assistant

Melissa Lynch works in many capacities, from assisting on funerals and working with the families to baking homemade cookies for visitation and overseeing seasonal decor in the Oxford funeral home.

While she spends much time in funeral service, her primary occupation is as a mother. Melissa and her husband Kevin Lynch live in Dryden along with their three children; daughter Addison Andra Lynch who was born in September 2009, daughter Livie Kathryn Lynch born in May 2011, and their son Boden Timothy Lynch who was born in May 2014.

Melissa also works in the medical field after graduating with an Associates Degree in Nursing from Mott Community College in December 2008 and is working as a registered nurse in the emergency room at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, MI.

Josey Justen Dovichi Funeral Assistant

Josey Justen Dovichi is a Funeral Assistant at the Oxford, Lapeer and Walled Lake locations of Lynch & Sons. A 1975 graduate of Marian High School, Josey first lived at and worked at the Walled Lake location starting in 1976. After working at the funeral home for several years Josey left for a career in the legal profession as an office manager.

In 2008 Josey returned to Lynch & Sons joining her sister Jennifer Justen Lynch, her brother-in-law Tim Lynch Sr. and her nephews Tim Jr. and Kevin Lynch and Mark Capstick and niece Katie Capstick in their service to the families of Oxford, Lapeer and Walled Lake.

Josey is the proud mother of Jennifer Dovichi Lawrence, son-in-law Tim Lawrence and son Bryan Dovichi. Her life’s treasure are her granddaughters Avery and Emerson and grandson Daxten James.
